    Day Twenty Nine

Many things that I did when I was younger, like practice piano, learn Chinese, and write a Young Adult novel, are only now revealing the reasons why I did those things and whatever I might need them for.

Through this meditation practice, I am getting a sense that these prayers are similar.  I am becoming these prayers for reasons I cannot quite see now, but I know someday these prayers and this process will serve me in ways that I am not aware of at the moment.  Growing older is exciting, always a process of finding out what happens on the next page of life’s Almighty Cosmic Mystery Novel.

Who knows how many small acts of kindness are occurring in this moment?  Who can count how many thoughts are bringing pleasure to how many minds?  Who can tally all the worries that are tightening their merciless grip on how many lives?  Who can map the precise route that connects all of these–every kindness, every pleasure, every worry–a clear guide to the Oneness of the Universe?

May you make the impossible possible.  Though you may know the deepest misery, may you dance with great joy.  I am here, too.  I am miserable, too.  I am with you.  I am dancing.  Let’s dance Wisdom into being.  May you always feel deeply loved by Lady Wisdom.  May your wisdom be ten times greater than the Buddha’s.  May your whole being fill up with a sense of how awkward and hilarious it is to be human.  May you feel free, at anytime you wish, under any circumstances, and in any situation, to inwardly vibrate a roar of laughter and outwardly project cosmic peace.

    Day Twenty Eight

    Inhale prayer. Exhale prayer.

    Inhale consciousness.  Exhale bliss.

Inhale Creation’s gifts and the Infinite Mystery.  Exhale Your Soul’s Wisdom.

There’s an eternal loving exchange happening in every breath.  In flows power.  Out flows a prayer.

When the heart falls into prayer, each heart beat creates a miracle.  When the breath synchronizes with prayer, respiration creates inspiration.

Here is a resource where you will find Yogi Bhajan discussing Breath and Prayer, as well as a simple Breath and Prayer practice.

May your breath always be conscious.  May your prayer be a sweet exchange between the known and unknown parts of you.  May your own breath of life give you health, wealth, and wisdom.  May your breath be your love breath, your sweet breath, your peace breath, your calm breath, your wise breath.  May your relationship with your breath be so deep and fulfilling that it guides all Dear Ones to fall more deeply in love with their own breath.  May your breath always bring you back to balance, harmony, kindness, compassion, and service.

    Day Twenty Seven

Choose gratitude.  Choose to uplift another soul.  Choose to listen.  Choose to be present, pay full attention, stay alert.  Choose to create a miracle with every heart beat.  Choose to forgive.  Choose to vibrate the music down in your soul.  Choose to move through this and every moment fully conscious of the miracle created by the prayerful heart.

    Day Twenty Six

When we agree to accept that each one of us is excellent, with potential beyond what we usually recognize, then we shall become willing to help one another realize that excellence.

May your mind be supported by your will rather than supported by ego.  May you have breadth, quickness, and openness.  May you open up to Infinity and become Infinity.  May you radiate courage and selflessness.  May you understand through compassion.  May angels, saints, and sages accompany you everywhere.  May you smile often.

    Day Twenty Five

May we listen.  May the act of listening be the prayer.  May listening be so satisfying to the soul, the mind, the ego, and the body that all become still and conscious and merge listening beings with the sounds of the Infinite Pulse.  May we perceive the sacred essence in all sound.  May we help one another to know divine love through listening.  May our listening grow so sophisticated and sensitive that we may hear the sound of sunlight shining upon each petal of any flower opening into its full bloom.

    Day Twenty Four

Yogi Bhajan said, “When the heart gets into prayer, every beat of the heart creates a miracle.”

Is it possible to sense, perceive, know, and feel intimate with these miracles that the heart creates?

    Sure.

Now.  Feel your pulse.  Sense the miracles occurring at your resting heart rate.  Then dance or run!  Sense the miracles occurring at your “Target Heart Rate.”  Move faster now!  Sense the miracles occurring at your “Maximum Heart Rate.”  Sense miracles pulsing into the cosmos, miracles created by the billions of prayerful hearts on the planet.

Consider every human heart now beating on the planet.  That’s some cosmic syncopation!  Think of the power of every heart as one heart, beating, pumping, repeating and repeating its eternal task of circulating blood flowing through the human body.

Now think of all those hearts getting into prayer. Think of all the miracles!

If you are 20 years old, and you are exercising vigorously while you are praying; say, for instance, you’re running a one-mile sprint at top speed while mentally reciting the Prayer of St. Francis: If, your heart rate exceeds its “Target” and reaches its “Maximum,” you are beating at 200 miracles per minute!

On October 3, 2015, I will turn 40 years old.  According to cardiologists, the “Target Heart Rate Zone” for someone my age is 90-153 beats per minute.  In no way am I to exceed 180 beats per minute.  And why would I?  90 miracles per minute is plenty to be grateful for!

Tell me, Dearest Beloved, what is your heart rate now?  What is God’s target heart rate?  What are the maximum number of miracles this whole collection of prayerful human heart beats can create on this planet?  Could such a quantity ever be known in our consciousness?

May your heart feel at ease in its prayerful expression.  May your heart feel joyful in its prayerful attitude.  May each beat of your heart create a miracle.  May you appreciate every beat of your heart and trust that your Creator’s care for you is as your heart beats–constant, rhythmic, an infinity of electrical impulses, the force, and the flow that always and ever carries you Home.

    Day Twenty Three

May the vital energy within you always be united with the Divine Spirit within you.  May your wisdom be vast and ever-expanding.  May you seek out and discover many opportunities to love and serve, to sing and pray.  May your soul enjoy its full expression, radiance, and creativity.  May you reach your destination–a spiritual warrior–full of courage:  Prosperous!  Victorious!  Blissful!  Free!

    Day Twenty Two

Souls migrate and migrate and continue to migrate.

Time and space mean nothing in the galactic terrain through which souls migrate.

Now, in our human experience, we are collectively resonating with Migration.

We’re heading home. Together, we seek. Together, we shall arrive at the safe harbors. All that we lose or gain along the way brightens the light with which we merge and merge again.

    A Prayer

May this world’s warm, soft heart grow so enormous that Love will resonate out into the furthest reaches of the cosmos. May the sacred geometry of the Earth’s magnetic field vibrate the Sacred Sound Current. May Love embrace this Earth! May loving kindness embrace this Earth. May divine loving kindness embrace this Earth. May Infinity’s divine loving kindness embrace this Earth.

    Day Twenty One

    We are all One.

The destinies of all beings are interconnected.

The “Mediation for Word Power” involves coordinating the movement of the navel point squeezing back toward the spine with the movement of the tongue hitting the roof of the mouth. The rhythm is almost like footsteps walking.

May each completion of this movement inside my body be dedicated to those refugees walking to Germany seeking asylum.

I read that 42,000 people a day are driven from their homes. If the number of refugees throughout the world were an entire nation, they would make up the 24th largest nation in the world: The Refugee Nation…

If there are so many seeking refuge out there, then a spiritual person feels compelled to turn deep within and connect with whatever it is inside each one of us that is seeking refuge.

What inside you, Dearest Sweet One, is seeking a safe harbor? In what way do you, Dearest Sweet One, feel driven out of your home? In what way do you feel unwelcome?

Turn inward and connect with that, heal that part of you that is a refugee. Acknowledge that part of you that is a citizen of the Refugee Nation. Seek out, explore, journey to Home. Be unafraid to begin your journey Home. Home, sweet, home.

The refugee is. The cosmos is. The Lord of Miracles is.

May we all find safe and sacred harbors. As challenging as it may be, may we all realize our deep connection to one another. May we desire to realize our connection to one another. May this prayer be with each and every footstep of each and every being who seeks refuge on this planet. May each footfall of those seeking shelter be our collective March on The Cosmos for the cause of our Sacred Right to Love One Another and Free One Another and open up our arms, our homes, our minds, our hearts to anyone who seeks shelter. May the Beloved Creator of All Benevolence and All Sanctuary and the Beloved Creator of Kindness come to serve those who feel desperate, afraid, lost, victimized, forgotten, and cast out. May this prayer be heard and heard over a thousand times a day, as if this tiny prayer is the nagging wife of the Almightiest God. May she scream, “Something Benevolent this way comes!” May it be true.

    Day Twenty

Words don’t complete a prayer.  Intunement  completes a prayer.  Intunement involves vibrating prayer.

So, I am becoming more aware that with each new day, my whole being is shifting into a prayerful attitude in practically every situation that I am in.  When I am driving, I am praying.  When I am eating, I am praying.  When I am scolding my children, I am praying.  It doesn’t matter what I am engaged in from day-to-day, my consciousness is yoked to prayer.

What this means for me is that I engage in no frivolous communication.  Every communication I have with another being is infused with prayer.  We may seem to be saying something very mundane, like, “Thank you.”  or “Please.”  But something more is exchanged in the communication because I am engaged in a perpetual prayer.

This is an extraordinary, beautiful, and utterly surprising benefit of this meditation practice.  Every interaction I enjoy is enriched by prayer.  I am bursting with joy!

May deep joy penetrate every fiber of this entire universe so that we who endure the deepest sadness may feel ever held in a warm embrace of The Beloved One Who Knows Our Hearts.  May joy spring from the unknowable places within us and give us the strength to uplift one another through our shared Divine Joy.
