    Day Thirty Nine

Beloved Everywhere,  This is my conscious prayer.

May the human family learn to thrive and be happy under the increased levels of pressure that we are all experiencing.  May we train our minds and intuition to perceive inner dimensions while the senses navigate the outer world with dignity and grace.  May more and more souls chose to experience the sacred sound current as a way to elevate the frequencies of the mind’s thought waves.  May we all come to understand the significance of every word we speak and every word we think.  May we accept, take responsibility for, and acknowledge that our words create our world.  May we come to celebrate that by tuning in to our inner sounds, and by harmonizing those inner sounds with sacred sounds, we experience our inner wisdom and merge with the vast awareness of Divine Silence.  If only one being on this planet experiences Divine Silence, may that one experience elevate every being. May collective human consciousness know deep and perfect ease with All That Is.

    Day Thirty Eight

“Our prayers alone are not enough.”  President Barak Obama insisted today when he was speaking about the mass shooting in Roseburg, Oregon.  True.  Prayers are not enough, if we only pray when there is a tragedy!

Prayer is not something we need only resort to when things are horrific.  Prayer must be a vibration we sustain constantly and consciously.  I envision a world in which we can look in one another’s eyes and pray to, pray with, pray for, pray at, pray around, and pray into one another.  There will be no awkward feelings, no embarrassment, no fear of vulnerability, no timidity, no mockery when we finally, really communicate through prayer.

Forget about polite conversation.  Forget about heated debate!  Forget about lectures and intellectual discourse and gossip and trash talk and talk shows and small talk!  Forget about texting and blogging and storytelling!  I want prayer.

I want only to communicate to you with my prayer, with my conscious prayer, with my desperate prayer, with my passionate prayer, with my mother’s prayer, with my lover’s prayer, with my teacher’s prayer, with my appellate prayer, with my infinite prayer, and with my silent prayer!

In this world that I am imagining, two dear friends, let’s name them Dearest and Beloved, sit to have tea.  Here is what their connection through spoken prayer will sound like:

Dearest:  Oh, Great Mystery, teach us how to trust.

Beloved:  Teach us how to trust our hearts.

    Dearst:  Trust our minds.

    Beloved:  Trust our intuition.

    Dearest:  Trust our inner knowing.

    Beloved:  Trust our sensory system.

Dearest:  Trust the blessings of our Spirit.

Beloved:  Teach us, Great Mystery, to trust these things so that we may enter our Sacred Spaces.

Dearest:  Teach us to love beyond our fear.

Beloved:  So that we may walk in balance with the passing of each glorious Sun.

Dearest:  Sat Nam!  Amen.  Hallelujah!  Glory be!

Dearest pours a little more tea into Beloved’s cup, and they continue to sip while they watch the sunset and allow their co-created prayer to merge with the silence.

I think John Lennon would agree with me in imagining this “brotherhood of man” or, in this case, infinite partnerships in prayer.

Dearest Beloved Mystery, please guide us all through times of deep grief that we may move through yet another tragic incident with consciousness and grace.  Please serve those who suffer most, serve them the perfect energies to help them experience comfort, relief, forgiveness, compassion, healing, strength. May we all take the conscious steps needed to make this a world that enjoys more peace and less violence.  May we give more attention and love to peaceful pursuits and images and songs.  May we turn our heads, our eyes, and our ears away from the glorified and gratuitous violence in films, music, and media.  May we continue to give more and more glory and attention to our own inner knowing, our spirit, our breath of life.  May we continue to give more and more glory and attention to our friends’ inner knowing, spirit, and breath of life.  May we continue to give more and more glory and attention to strangers’ inner knowing, spirit, and breath of life.  May those who have passed from this Earth plane find peace.  May they merge into beloved light.  Akal.  Akal.  Akal.

May you always remember the Great Giver of All That Is, and may HeSheIt bestow many, many gifts upon you.  Receive gifts of prana, boundless energy and vitality.  Receive gifts of prosperity, wealth and success.  Receive gifts of god consciousness, deep sensory wisdom and refined subtle awareness of your existence and its miraculous contribution to the Divine Creation!

May you see things as the Beloved Creator sees them.  May you know things as the Lord of Miracles knows them.  May you feel things as the Queen of the Mystic Waters feels them.  May you understand things as the Master of Wisdom understands them.  May you meditate as the Silent Infinity meditates.

    Day Thirty Five

What an almighty challenge it is to live according to consciousness!  Every moment presents enormous challenge.  All the varieties of personalities and energies to work with!  All the bizarre distractions and overload to the nervous system!  All the tragedies and celebrations! All the zombies who are totally indifferent or checked out!  All the over dramatization and sensationalizing and celebrity and too-cool-for-school irreverence!

My meditation practice saved me today.  There were certain moments and situations in which it would have been easier and more comfortable, more habitual, to fall into the behavior patterns and thought patterns that occur when I rely on my ego, my emotions, or my intelligence in certain trying moments.  But, I am slowing my breath and reminding myself to remain fully conscious, fully alert, ready at any moment to face Life’s challenges with dignity, grace, and consciousness.

What helped today?  The image of the white light growing and expanding out from my heart center worked miracles in keeping me in my consciousness.  This vision is a skill I refined practicing this Isht Sodhana Mantra Kriya, and because I’ve been practicing every day, the vision just came into my mind when I needed it, as if it had been gifted to me by a generous Muse.  Receiving the gift was pure delight, and I was astonished at how much this helped.  As soon as I envisioned the white light growing and glowing and expanding from the center of my heart out into the universe, a divine grace intervened in my predicament, and the energy around the predicament changed.  The predicament is still there, but the energy around it is different; now, I have such clarity about the situation that I can move forward relying on my intuitive poise.

I’m feeling blessed to be cozying up to the flow of grace.

May you enjoy the flow of grace in each moment.  May your soul be served by your own beautiful, intuitive poise.  May the pure light of consciousness become your habitual way of being!

    Day Thirty Four

Meditating while basking in the energy of a full lunar eclipse amplifies the effects of the meditation.

It’s the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival.  Our family gathers on the patio to observe the Moon.  We drink tea.  The children dance and laugh.  The dog rests his chin between his paws.  We observe the eclipsed moon as a dark, blood-red orb.  She gradually removes this veil and reappears in all her silver-white glory.  She reflects.  The oracles guide us to acknowledge this evening as a time for deep reflection and for seeing and understanding that reality is a reflection of who and what we are–our flaws, our greatness, our potential.

Have you heard tell of Yin and Yang, the lovers residing on the moon?  An old legend says that Lady Yin washes Master Yang’s feet in a rose-scented milky way.  Then he combs her hair with a comb made of sun beams.  Once a year, they dance an ecstatic dance that causes an awesome Moonquake.  This seismic activity sends ripples out into Infinity.  Earth receives subtle shifts in its neutron stream.  These shifts effect human beings in a variety of ways from triggering lunatic behavior to inspiring the composition of symphonies and the writing of novels.

It is said that if a human practices a certain pranayama (breathing meditation) during this time, that person will receive the gift of god consciousness.  Here’s the practice:  Inhale deeply.  Gently hold the breath without holding any tension in the body and mentally utter (inwardly utter) the word ecstasy.  Exhale all the air out of the body.  Mentally utter ecstasy.  Inhale and repeat this pattern.  Continue the practice for three minutes.  Then put on some good music and dance.

May you liberate yourself from the tricky influences of the subconscious mind.  May you live according to your god consciousness.  May you know ecstatic, divine love because your nerves are strong, your mind serves your soul, your heart creates miracles, your navel point syncs with the Infinite Pulse.  May your will and Divine Will be One.

    Day Thirty Two

    Prayer prevails!

Prayer made front page news today!

Yesterday, a beautiful yogi by the name of Ramdesh Kaur, whose writing I admire, wrote a lovely post on Facebook.  She wrote about how moved she felt that Pope “Fran-tastic” is always asking people to pray for him.  Ramdesh goes on to reflect on how empowering it is to receive a humble prayer request from a person we regard as an authority.  That someone who is so celebrated and influential as the pope would still ask us common folk to pray for him–what a powerful gesture!

Pope Francis, like Yogi Bhajan, knows the power of prayer, and he knows it doesn’t matter who is praying; prayer prevails.

When Pope Francis had a private moment with Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, John Boehner, the Pope asked John Boehner to pray for him.  While announcing his resignation today, John Boehner mentioned this moment with the Pope.  While telling the public about the Pope’s prayer request, the Congressman’s eyes welled up with tears; his throat tightened; his nose started to run.  It was such a significant moment that CNN replayed it over and over.

All morning, political pundits discussed what triggered John Boehner’s decision today.  Was he strong-armed into resigning by radical members of the Republican party?  Was he overwhelmed by the threat of government shutdown?

The newspapers spin their stories and make good sense of it all.  News writing loves the illusion that we know through facts; we are informed.

But, like every soul, John Boehner is such an infinity of complexities and mysteries; there is no knowing the full story of his reasons for acting the way he did and making the choices he made.  What’s more, John Boehner may not even be fully aware himself why he chose to resign on the day he did.  As an ad hoc spiritual pundit, I like to think John Boehner was simply inspired and moved by Prayer.  And as an ad hoc spiritual pundit, I would also bring attention to the interesting physiological response Mr. Boehner displayed: eyes filled with tears, throat clenched, mucus in the nose.  The Congressman was losing all control over his physiological mechanisms, and clearly he was not breathing deep into his pelvic diaphragm…  But enough pontificating (wink).

The power of prayer trumps political power.  One act of humility inspires another.

You see, once we realize how powerful we are, and we connect with one another on the level of the soul, then nothing can keep us in a grip.  Essentially, we are so free, almost unbearably free.  Once we pray with and for each other, once we communicate through sincere and conscious prayer, we can appreciate the true power of every soul.

I bow and bow again, feeling deeply grateful and relieved and ecstatic to see that Prayer is making the front page news today.

May we continue to feel at ease requesting that every and any soul find it in their ever-expanding heart to pray for us.  May those prayers be fully conscious, fully compassionate, and fully aware.  Oh, my dearest, sweetest, deepest Love, pray for me!  Oh stranger, pray for me!  Oh my dear friend, pray for me!  Oh, my enemy, pray for me!  Oh, my Siblings of Destiny, pray for me!  Oh, John Boehner, pray for me!  Prayer is power!

    Day Thirty One

Meditate on all the goodness in you and around you.  Feel sun energy, moon energy, galactic energy, divine energy.  Feel the enthusiasm of angels and awakened beings supporting you on your journey into your Unknown, into your Devotion, into your Connection to All That Is.  May your hands, your feet, your nerves, your spine, your hair vibrate compassion, grace, forgiveness, kindness.  May your own wildest, most creative expression of devotion to all that you hold sacred permeate the cosmos and be received by all ascended masters.  May the sweet longing for union with the divine be fresh fruit that just touches your dry lips but then leaves you so satisfied with bliss that you are barely able to whisper, “wahe guru!”

    Day Thirty

Balance exists between the known and unknown parts of the Self.  Whisper your soul’s prayer, oh, my dearest sweet One.  Pray for all popes, masters, sages, saints, gods and goddesses.  Pray that the Generating, Organizing, and Delivering force of this Universe feels the greatest Love at its white, glowing, sacred heart.  Pray for the quivering rodents and tiniest insects that they may wriggle and move on.  Pray All, from the sweetest child to the most loathsome villain, All be held in the perfect, peaceful sway of Mother Earth gently rolling over, enjoying her Autumnal Equinox.  Today, may we each and every being know an Almighty Stroke of Grace that gives us plenty of life force to give, to forgive, to connect, to grow, to cherish every thought, word, and deed within ourselves and within one another.  Feel the balance, oh my dearest, You–oh, my dearest ME–we are settled and content within the heart of the Great Unknown.
